Visual Studio Code

Visual Studio Code (VS Code for short) is a free source code editor from Microsoft and is available across all platforms. Visual Studio Code enables us to monitor and manage changes in project files/folders. Projects from Github can be easily cloned, branches created and pull requests executed.

MobaXterm

MobaXterm provides all major remote networking tools (SSH, X11, RDP, VNC, FTP, MOSH, …) and Unix commands (bash, ls, cat, sed, grep, awk, rsync, …) on the Windows desktop and allows us to establish an SSH session to use the OpenLens application.

OpenLens

OpenLens is a program that allows us to access and manage all running pods and deployed releases and helps us to monitor their functioning.

MQTT Explorer

MQTT Explorer is a comprehensive MQTT client that provides a structured overview of your MQTT topics and simplifies working with devices/services on your broker. Through the MQTT Explorer, MQTT messages can be monitored and errors can be corrected if data does not find its way to grafana.

NMap

Nmap is a port scanner for scanning and evaluating hosts in a computer network. If we are missing access to a certain port, we can use NMap to search for it in the entire network. But be careful, as this might alarm the firewall of the network you’re in!
